Hindu Weddings depict the perfect union of two compatible persons. All the Hindu Wedding ceremonies are mostly conducted by enchanting Shlokas and Mantras in Sanskrit. All the holy ceremonies involve coming together of two families. Marriage is a very important Sanskara in Hinduism and most of the weddings are a lavish affair which lasts for a few days. The most important ceremonies in a Hindu Wedding are “Sangeet”, “Haldi”, “Jaimal”, “Saptapadi” and “Vidaai”. In a Hindu Wedding, the bride and the groom make seven encirclements around the fire, with each round having its own importance as the couple makes 7 vows together.

There are certain variations in the rituals followed in Hindu Marriages according to different regions. All the ceremonies are conducted by a priest “Pandit”. Traditionally, the Indian bride wears a red lehenga or saree, as red is considered to be a holy color. And the groom wears a kurta-pyajama or sherwani, which is the traditional Indian attire. An Indian bride looks very beautiful and elegant.

Indian Wedding is considered as one of the Sanskars in Indian Philosophy like Upnayan Sanskar, Pani-Grahan Sanskar (Wedding). This ceremony is considered to be of great spiritual importance and union of two souls and committment to live together and share the joy and sorrow of life with each other. The Indian Wedding marks the wholeness or oneness of life of two different people. Indian Wedding Ceremonies have great spiritual importance and are followed by Indian tradiitonal families with great respect.
