The Prime Minister of India is a paramount political office. The Prime Minister is the leader of the largest majority party in the Parliament. The party which wins the majority in any election selects its leader who takes oath as Prime Minister as per the constitutional provisions. Prime Minister then, forms the Ministry by choosing politicians from his party or allied parties, who take oath as Ministers / Ministers of States, as per his decision. The office of Prime Minister hold much importance for governance as all major policy decisions are routed through this office.
