National Flower of India

The National Flower of India is Lotus ( In Hindi it is called “Kamal Ka Phool”). The reason this flower, Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) was chosen is because it signifies that which keeps itself pure even when living in a rough environment. Nelumbo nucifera, known by a number of names including Indian Lotus, Sacred Lotus, Bean of India, or simply Lotus, is a plant in the monogeneric family Nelumbonaceae.
