Elle Magazine is a worldwide magazine that focuses on women’s fashion World, beauty Tips, health, and entertainment. The Elle is also the world’s largest fashion magazine. And it was founded by Pierre Lazareff and his wife Helene Gordon Since 1945. The Elle title in French, means “she” for Women. Mrs. Robbie Myers is the editor in chief of this Magazine.
In the 1960 it was considered to ‘not so much reflect fashion world as decree it’, it has about with 800000 loyal readers and a then famous slogan of “Si elle lit elle lit Elle means that” (If she reads, she reads Elle). In 1981, Daniel Filipacchi and Jean-Luc Lagardere purchased Hachette magazines, which included the then struggling Elle. Elle Magazine was then launched in the U.S.(News Corporation owned a stake in the US edition until 1988), now followed by 25 foreign editions.
Elle is published in the US by Hearst Magazines, in Canada by Transcontinental Media in Brazil by Grupo Editora Abril, in Mexico by Grupo Editorial Expansion, in Singapore by Mediacorp, in Germany by Hubert Burda. Other countries include India, Portugal and Spain. The Elle first UK edition was published in Nov. 1985.
