Karnataka is a state in the southern part of India.Karnataka is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west, Goa to the northwest, Maharashtra to the north, Andhra Pradesh to the east, Tamil Nadu to the southeast, and Kerala to the southwest.

The diverse linguistic and religious ethnicities that are native to Karnataka combined with their long histories have contributed immensely to the varied cultural heritage of the state. Apart from Kannadigas, Karnataka is home to Tuluvas, Kodavas and Konkanis.Karnataka also has a special place in the world of Indian classical music with both Karnataka(Carnatic) and Hindustani styles finding place in the state and Karnataka has produced a number of stalwarts in both styles.

The Kannada language is the official language of the state, the native language of approximately 65% of its population and one of the classical languages of India.Kannada played a crucial role in the creation of Karnataka since linguistic demographics was a major criterion chosen to create the state.

Karnataka has a rich diversity of flora and fauna.By virtue of its varied geography and long history, Karnataka hosts numerous spots of interest for tourists. There is an array of ancient sculptured temples, modern cities, scenic hill ranges, unexplored forests and endless beaches.
