Mukesh Ambani (born on 19 April 1957) the eldest son of Dhirubhai Ambani, the late founder of Reliance Industries, is an Indian business magnate and the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, the largest private sector enterprise in India, a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest private sector conglomerates in the world.
In surprising move, he ended long-running feud with younger sibling Anil in May and scrapped their non-compete pact. Jumped into telecom, paying $1 billion for wireless broadband firm Infotel. His Reliance Industries, India’s most valuable company, is investing in shale gas assets; bought stakes in three American energy firms for $3.3 billion recently. Latest buy: 14% stake for $220 million in East India Hotels, operator of the Oberoi hotel chain.
He is married to Nita Ambani and has three children, Akash, Anant and Isha. He owns the Indian Premier League team, the Mumbai Indians.
